Vehicles parked in cul-de-sacs are likely to be towed immediately. During snow emergencies, where snowfall is 2” or greater, motor vehicles may not be parked or abandoned on streets or roadways so as to impede the removal of snow or ice. This snow emergency does not prohibit travel to and from work.
Motorists are advised to use caution. Citizens should contact their employer to determine whether they should report to work.
Boone County, Kentucky, has issued a Level One snow emergency, effective at 11 p.m. During a "watch" local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations is recommended. Dearborn County has upgraded to an “orange” travel watch. An orange (watch) travel status means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said those who drive should do so with caution and allow additional time for the morning commute. Butler County is under a Level 1 snow emergency. This closure affects all state, county, township, and city roadways. The Hamilton County Sheriff's department said due to hazardous driving conditions all roadways in the county have been closed.
